Minutes of the May 5, 2012, meeting were approved as edited (Gioffe (sic)/ Goffi).
The chairpersons open house for volunteers did not produce ay evidence of interest. It was noted that no one from the Board of Selectmen was present. A suggestion to combine this open house with the sticker program and/or a guest speaker was discussed Committee members had contacted a
couple of people to see if they were interested in serving on the committee. No responses had been received as of this time.
Joanne Baldauf then related her experience with offering asistance to an Eastham dogowner who was having "neighbor issues" with his 2-3 dogs who were roaming. The neighbor, properties adjoin. After reminding the owner of the town's leash law and suggesting solid fencing to foil further escape attempts , (an area veterinarian had recommended wire), the boundaries of the property were walked by both. The owner had already fenced 3/4 of the property with 4 - 5 foot wire. Six foot solid gates blocking both drives on the property were suggested rather than wire. In a follow-up several weeks later, it
was noted that the gates had been installed as well as electronic
fencinf 4 feet inside the fenced area. As of this time, no further
complaints had been mentioned.
It was agreed that due to prior committments by the Chair and the Clerk the next meeting would be scheduled for Wednesday, October
3, 2012, at 6:30pm.
The meeting adjourned at 6:55pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Joane M. Baldauf, Clerk
